Dechlorinating Candle:
- N.B. Due to this ceramic candle not being impregnated with silver, this filter cartridge should ONLY be used with municipal TAP WATER that is BACTERIA FREE.
- This candle removes fine sediment, low bacteria levels, chlorine and other harmful chemicals, and improves taste, colour and odour.
- Filtration steps: Ceramic micro filter (0.5 – 0.9 micron) shell, internal granular activated carbon.
- The filter candle is effective for approximately 1000 litres of municipal water (between 4 to 9 months). This will obviously vary depending on the quality of the water.
Sterilising Candle:
- Filtration steps: Silver impregnated ceramic microfilter (0.5 – 0.9 micron) shell, internal granular activated carbon.
- What's the difference: Sterilising candles have been shown to be 3 times more effective in eliminating bacteria in contaminated household water.
- The filter candle is effective for approximately 1500 litres of municipal water (between 6 to 9 months). This will obviously vary depending on the quality of the water.
Cleaning & Care:
- Ceramic filters should be soaked in water for 24 hours and then cleaned before first use to ensure optimal performance.
- Requires regular cleaning with scourer or sandpaper when discoloured or water flow drops.
